I’m Ingrid B. Garcia, an experienced editor and travel writer in developing a diverse range of magazines, communication campaigns, and books. Over the past 15 years, my work has been published in numerous corners of the world, reflecting my commitment to excellence and a profound grasp of the art of storytelling.
My journey commenced as a member of the research team at Red Castle Group, the editorial powerhouse behind the esteemed magazine Estrategia & Negocios. Shortly thereafter, I contributed to FEM, Bienes & Raices, and AutoData magazines.
Advancing in my career, I assumed the role of Brand Manager for Inside Magazine, a venture I initiated and successfully nurtured through its 61st edition. This pivotal period marked the genesis of my independent endeavor: L’Iconique, a cultural publication supported by The Alliance Francaise and Il Istituto Italiano della Cultura. Noteworthy clients during this phase included Nokia, Sony, HP, Canon, Tigo, RedBull, Freischenet, alongside numerous advertising agencies and brands in Central America and The Caribbean.
My professional journey extended to the UK, where I contributed to Brighton News. Subsequently, I ventured to Asia, collaborating on the creation of Kuching In&Out in Sarawak, Borneo, and successfully presenting and implementing a PR campaign for The British Council.
Notably, I contributed in a dedicated section on responsible tourism in the cultural Magazine ‘Magacin’, a segment broadcast every Sunday for 1.5 years. I steered the editorial efforts for http://www.visitguatemala.com, a project under the National Tourism Board – INGUAT, culminating in the creation of ‘Destinations Guatemala,’ featuring 30 new tourist sites.
In addition to my editorial roles, I’ve successfully edited and published four books: “White Road” in California by Elijah Coberly, “The Akashic Records” by Ernesto Ortiz (translation from English to Spanish), “The Harmonica Diaries” by Kenny Gilmore (USA and South Africa) and “Songs for an Untouched Night” by Emma Carruthers (New Zealand).
Furthermore, I have curated an assortment of books and manuals that delineate best practices in adventure tourism, encompassing disciplines such as white-water activities, paragliding, volcano trekking, canopy exploration, and more. Notably, I recently had the honor of overseeing the editorial process and contributing to the conceptualization and design of the Astrotourism manual for INGUAT.
My passion lies in the art and science of communication, telling untold stories, preserving the treasures of the present, and sharing the richness of our history and culture. As I embark on the next exciting project this year, I am eager to collaborate and bring your vision to life.
Let’s transform your project into reality.
Looking forward to connecting with you.
Warm regards,
Ingrid.
